PŖǾper Admin PŖǾtocol

If you are an admin in PŖǾ, you need to read this. Admins should also read Asklock's Admin Tut., which will give help with many of the developer's console commands. This thread has everything you need to know about having, using and keeping your admin.

Please note that admin is a privilege you have been given for being a regular in our server, and can be removed or suspended at any point for any reason.

We use mani admin, so in order to use your admin you must bind it through the developer's console:
bind "key" "admin"

When you press that button in game, your admin console should pop up. You can navigate this with your number buttons.

1. Warn > Slay > Kick > Ban
- Please warn players of issues through both typing and microphone chat, as not every pubber plays with sound on.
- A slay may be necessary to stop unwanted actions. Most slays should come with a second warning.
- If a kicked person comes back, a third warning should go with it.
- Bans of ANY length should only occur in the cases of SEVERELY negative responses to warnings and/or tauntings, or if the rules are still being broken after a players has returned from being kicked. The exception to this is hacking/cheating.


2. Bans
- Most bans should not be permenent, but it is at your descretion. If you start handing out too many permenent bans for reasons that don't require them, that length of ban may be restricted for you.
- Bans should be done by IP or Steam ID, or both if possible. Banning by name makes it too easy for them to work around the ban.
- Unbanning other admin's bans is frown upon without their permission or a higher admin over-ruling the ban. It doesn't matter if we banned your friend, they have to wait it out or come to us.


3. Mutes
- The mute system we have right now works like the ban menu, in that you pick a time for the person to be muted. All first time mutes should be set at 5 minutes. Longer mutes may be given if the first mute expires and the problems persist. The Warn > Slay > Kick > Ban tree may be a good substitute for dealing with muting people.


4. Swapping Teams
- The switching teams option is found in Player Management.
- The instanteous switch option may be used, but you are not allowed to use it to gain kills. Switching at the beginning of the round and then killing all your former teammates is not tolerated. We would rather you use this option while dead. Same note, don't do it for other players either.
- If a player asks to be switched to the other team, use the option that switches them at the end of the round.
- Switching players to spectate should be done for afks, yourself, or if someone requests it.


5. Admin Chat
- Admin Only chat should be used to discuss possible hackers and deal with admin only issues and other things that the regulars and pubbers on the server do not need to see.
- Admin chat should be used to give out warnings or otherwise catch someone's attention. Admin chat posts twice, so don't spam it.
- You can talk to specific people by typing in team chat "(u): @@ name Hey, can you please stop that?"  This is effective for people who aren't paying attention to admin chat warnings.


6. Map Changes
- Should be run by all active admins in the server.
- Should be voted on, unless everyone already agrees.


7. Fun Player Management
- Is fun, of course, but needs to be used with discretion as some options do hurt a players health.
- Certain options can be used to catch people's attention.
- Just keep a level head when using it, as abusing it often will get you in trouble.


8. ma_cexec
- If you have access to cexec commands, you need to use them with careful consideration.
- cexec should primarily be used to change offensive names.
- You must warn the party with the offensive name at least ONCE before using cexec. Multiple warnings are preferable.
- Using cexec to be malicious, change names from fine to inappropriate, or otherwise just spamming it will require disciplinary action against you.
- Using cexec to change someone's name once, with their permission, is admissible.


9. Weapon Restriction
- The main PŖǾ server is dust2, no awps, autos, or flashes.
- If you choose to unrestrict any of the above, it must be run by and agreed with by ALL in game admins.
- If you are the only admin, you must re-restrict these items before leaving the server unattended.
- If another admin comes in and asks that they be restricted again, you must restrict them, no matter what was voted on previously.
- Abuse of weapon restriction will prompt it to be removed.


10. Forum Participation
- All members of PŖǾ are required to have an account on these forums.
- Heavy participation is not manditory, however, you must check in occasionally so we know that you are using it. It should also be checked for updates, rule changes, and news regarding the server.
- A post on the forums must be made to inform us of prolonged absenses, in order to ensure your admin is safe.
